[This is Beth’s only scheduled vocal workshop for 2017.]

This workshop of Beth’s is designed to help you tap into the power of singing with least effort from the natural tone of your speaking voice.

Beth will work with you through three basic vocal testing grounds:

  • Day One will be focused on singing acoustically and finding the sweet spot in your voice in an unplugged situation.
  • Then we’ll head over to Ocean Way Studios and work in the studio setting, learning to work with a microphone, headphones and communicating with an engineer.
  • From there you’ll have the opportunity to adapt what you’ve learned in a live performance environment, from sound check to the spotlight and ending with an evening performance.

The 3-day workshop will be held at Scarritt Bennett and Ocean Way Studios on Music Row, which is walking distance from Scarritt-Bennett campus. Since it’s only two blocks away, you could see about accommodation availabilities there [Scarritt Bennett Accomodations], or at nearby hotels: Embassy Suites, Best Western Music Row, Hilton Home2 Suites, and Hampton Inn.

We will start the evening of Wednesday, July 12 with a dinner cooked by Beth, and the workshop will include visits from guest singers and producers, the experience of recording your newfound vocal skills in a world-class studio, the chance to perform in a live sound setting, and a closing night dinner together. Plus all of the unscripted fun, laughter and surprises that always swirl around Beth!

Beth is such a fantastic teacher — kind, funny, encouraging. She brings out the best in everyone. Her vocal technique is so helpful and not one person’s voice was not changed for the better. I think everyone left happier than we could have imagined.
Carly Ritter, Marina del Rey, CA

I was blown away by the transformations that occurred for me and others in the Full Vocal Presence Workshop. Beth has a kind presence that creates safety and at the same time is able to pull you out of your safety zone into your authentic and powerful voice. I left with so much more confidence in my voice.
Bill O’Hanlon, Santa Fe, NM

Beth Chapman has a real gift for helping people maximize their vocal abilities. She has helped me find volume and range I did not know I had and taught me some pretty simple things about singing acoustically, in a studio, and on stage with amplification, that will make a huge difference in my music.
Matt Steinhauer, Hendersonville, TN

I can’t imagine a better teacher for this workshop. Beth’s approach to maximizing the beauty of your own voice is organic and rock solid. And her classes are so much fun and extremely insightful. You are guaranteed to experience some kind of personal shift.
Suzanne Klimek, Waynesville, NC

Beth is one of the most generous, kind, talented and humble music teachers I’ve ever met. She gives so much of herself when teaching, showing her vulnerability which allows her students to feel comfortable revealing theirs. She also seems to truly care about each individual person she works with and crafts her teaching to the individual’s need. I learned so much from Beth about music, singing, performing and living a good life. Participating in her workshop is a life changing experience no matter where you are on your musical journey and I highly recommend working with Beth any chance you can get.
Kate Auringer, Denton, TX

Beth is a spirit who uses her talents to facilitate our growth throughout the workshop, and does it in a way that all can benefit, whatever level or stage you are at in your career
David McLachlan, Toronto, Ontario

The truth found in her songs and performances, combined with her ability to discern what she is perceiving and communicate effectively, added to her generosity of spirit, are the gifts she brings to all who attend this workshop. If you are open to experiencing your relationship to your voice in a new way, this workshop will enable you to connect with your audience in more authentic and powerful ways.
Ellen Gennaro, Nashville, TN

Beth made this workshop fun by telling stories about her experiences in life as a songwriter and performer. She spends time one-on-one with each participant and coaches them throughout the 3 days. It was an amazing experience!
Lynn Sasso, Madison, CT

About Beth Nielsen Chapman:

A 2016 inductee into the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and renowned writer of many hits for other artists as well as herself (including “This Kiss” for Faith Hill, “Nothin’ I Can Do About It Now” for Willie Nelson, “Strong Enough to Bend” for Tanya Tucker, “The Color of Roses” for Bette Midler, and “Here We Are” for Alabama), Beth Nielsen Chapman is in demand as a songwriting teacher and creative coach, having taught at such schools as the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and Berklee School of Music in Boston, and numerous festivals and venues internationally.

Beth presents her unique and inspiring style of teaching in much the same way she approaches creativity itself. She will explore the art of singing from the center of your most powerful effortless center of communication. Your speaking voice! With no more effort than speaking, we will open up to new ways to perceive the delivery a song. Whether you plan to make it to American Idol or you just want to sing the clearest vocal on your work-tapes that show your song when you play it or a demo singer, this is a great class even for those who don’t consider themselves singers. It’s a wonderful way to take singing to another level. In addition, we’ll be learning to dive for melody using the voice during the writing process.
