Performing Songwriter has been a fierce and loyal supporter of independent artists and music since our very first issue, with a special section of reviews devoted to their music in every edition. We also dedicated two issues each year as a “Salute to Independents,” and they quickly became our most popular offerings. These are some of the special features we produced that examined the life and career of indie artists, researched trends to help them reach a wider audience, and saluted all of the trailblazers that paved the way for others.
